Metal Wall Cladding Refurbishment

GIROCOTE® is a mid-sheen, low odour, emissions compliant coating designed for spray or brush application over existing Plastisol and PVDF (Pvf2) / Polyester coated steel to provide aesthetically pleasing and enhanced protection for the refurbishment and redecoration of profiled metal wall cladding panels.

On weathered factory coatings, it can be spray applied in one coat or brush / roller applied in two without the need to prime.

Key Benefits

  • Primer-less adhesion to existing Plastisol / PVDF (Pvf2).
  • Long term weathering properties.
  • Available in small quantities in a wide range of RAL and BS colours.
  • Fast application with disruption to internal activities.
  • Easy to apply – airless spray, brush or roller.
  • Use with Girocote ZP Primer for protection of bare steel / galvanised substrate.

Instructions for Use

GIROCOTE® should only be applied to substrates that are structurally sound and provide a clean, dry and stable base for re-coating. GIROCOTE® can be spray applied in one coat, or brush or roller applied in two coats to ensure adequate coverage and thickness. Peel adhesion tests should be carried out to ensure the surface to be treated is suitable for application. Priming is not generally required on adherent factory applied coatings unless indicated by the on-site adhesion test.

Profiled Metal Cladding Renovation

Profiled metal wall cladding can have a long serviceable life if maintained. But, if neglected, and repaint guidelines ignored, the building owner faces costly sheet replacement.

GIROCOTE® is a system utilising an anticorrosive, high opacity primer / finish for the renovation of profiled metal wall cladding, giving an enhanced life and an aesthetically pleasing mid-sheen finish available in a wide range of RAL and British Standard colours.
