ACCOUNTS BOOKKEEPER - ACCOUNTANT

Job Description

Experienced Sage 50 Accounts Bookkeeper/Accountant

 

In this role you will have sole responsibility for:

  • purchase ledger (including staff expense claims)

  • sales ledger control

  • nominal ledger

  • monthly management accounts

  • annual financial accounts to trial balance

  • quarterly VAT returns

  • quarterly corporation tax advance payment calculations

  • CIS returns

  • EC sales lists

  • bank reconciliations

  • all relevant year end reconciliations

Final accounts preparation and corporation tax computation/ reconciliation are done by external auditors, but all preparatory work up to this point is the sole responsibility of the post holder. It is therefore imperative that the successful applicant can work on their own initiative for everything 'accounts' related.

This is a great post for someone who loves to get involved with everything from beginning to end and is happy to work alone, albeit in an office with 5 other members of staff working in sales, marketing and technical support.

 

Ideally the 20 hours would be 5 mornings a week, as this suits the current office dynamic but for the right person, this could be flexible. Full handover will be given for as long as required by the existing accountancy position holder.
