Giromax® Asbestos Cement Coating Solution | Giromax Technology
Roofcoat-asbestos

Why Choose Asbestos Cement Coating?

Many commercial properties across the country are still fitted with an asbestos roof, despite its known dangers and issues. As many of these properties approach, or in some scenarios, exceed, the material’s 50 year life expectancy, cracks and damages are common and present a special maintenance problem.

Even the slightest disturbance of an asbestos sheet can cause danger, and stringent disposal regulations pose difficulty and great expense if you are considering an entire roof replacement. Therefore, total roof encapsulation is the safest and most cost effective solution.

Our advanced Giromax® Roofcoat system for asbestos cement provides a fully breathable, moisture tolerant and flexible coating, that seals corroded bolts, loose fixings and minor cracks, and creates a water repelling surface that is protected for up to 25 years.

Instructions for Use

While our Giromax® Roofcoat system for asbestos cement is safe and easy to apply, any asbestos repair work must be carried out by a specialist contractor. For best results, all corroded fixings and cracks should be sealed, and the surface cleaned and prepared in order for Giromax® Roofcoat to adhere to the roof effectively. Moisture Tolerant Asbestos Roof Repair

Asbestos cement sheets are vapour permeable, often with a high moisture content. But unlike most coatings, Giromax® Roofcoat will not crack or blister when in persistent contact with moisture. The solution repels surface water to provide a breathable coating that allows the cement sheet to ‘sweat’ whilst keeping rainwater out.

The system can also be applied in wet conditions, meaning come rain or shine, your project can stay on track.
