Why Choose Giromax® Rooflight Clearcoat?

Profiled translucent GRP rooflights are manufactured to meet stringent non-fragile and fire retardant regulations, and provide diffused natural daylight, both of which have obvious benefits for commercial buildings.

The external weather surface is commonly protected with a UV resistant polyester film. But over time, through persistent weathering and exposure to the elements, rooflights can begin to look tired, or worse, become susceptible to cracks.

Generally, it’s the polyester film or gel coat and not the sheet itself that requires replacing. Therefore, if caught in time, a rooflight can often be treated in situ and its protection preserved, which avoids the need for costly replacements.

And that’s where Giromax® Rooflight Clearcoat comes in. The advanced solution provides a single component moisture curing aliphatic polyurethane coating that cures to a clear, tough membrane that recoats and seals aged or weathered GRP rooflights
