GIROSIL RC ULTRA ROOF COATING
Guideline Instruction for Spray Application
This product is for professional use only. Product spray application is by airless spray. Only personnel fully trained in the use of airless spray equipment should spray apply this product, using the guidelines listed below.
Minimum 2,800 psi. (see also pressure drop).
0.017 (17 thou) – 0.021 (21 thou) dependent on machine capability.
Discretionary use. In practice, in line filters may be removed.
Recommended diameter: 3/8” pressure rated hose.
Recommended hose minimum length: 15 metres.
(Thereafter dependent on achievable pressure - see also pressure drop).
Whip end - Recommended diameter: 1/4” pressure rated hose.
Girosil ULTRA is supplied ready to use and does not normally require thinning. Spraying at lower ambient temperatures may require additional thinning. Use GIROMAX Thinners mixed thoroughly into a 15-litre pail, by manual or mechanical explosion proof stirrer/agitator. Additional thinning will increase wet film thickness (WFT) required to achieve 200 microns (μ) dry film thickness (DFT).
Use GIROMAX LINE CLEANER. All spray equipment should be purged with product with the spray tip assembly removed to reduce tip blockages.
Spray equipment must be thoroughly flushed after use. Thoroughly flush lines and machine filter housing via circulating valve. Fully clean spray gun and tips.
Pressure drop can be affected by various factors including temperature, increased flow rate by using larger or worn tips, or longer or narrower hoses than specified.
Monitor any wear and replace spray tips when necessary. Worn tips can increase pressure drop in hoses and apply greater than recommended film thicknesses.
To avoid product skinning during rest breaks, recommended best practices to remove suction intake from paint and place in line cleaner. Replace lid or cover opened tins to protect product from air and moisture.
LINE CLEANER USE
Avoid constantly reusing line cleaner. Discard when possible to avoid gelling as a result of moisture contamination.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Please read all product safety data sheets, COSHH data and operating instruction information and be aware of the features and hazards of using your chosen piece of spray equipment, prior to its use.
All spray equipment should be earthed. Consult spray equipment supplier about information and procedures to avoid static build-up.
Always be aware of the dangers of fluid pressures generated when being used. It is essential that emergency procedures are in place to deal with any incident involving injection injury.
